Ketamine Addiction
While using Ketamine, an abuser is less likely to feel pain and in turn, could end up inflicting injury or harm to themselves without even knowing it. A user can also get submerged in their hallucinations without even realizing that they’re hallucinating.
Long term effects of Ketamine Addiction are mainly anecdotal with addicts having flashbacks of experiences or hallucinations while under the influence. Some suggest that long term use of Ketamine can damage the memory and eyesight of the user, and may also reduce the user’s attention span. Frequent use can also cause disruptions in consciousness and lead to neuroses or other mental disorders some even reporting mild schizophrenia and impaired memory for several days after use.
A main characteristic of Ketamine is a stupor similar that of extreme drunkenness which is commonly known as “being in the K-hole.” With Ketamine Addiction there is always the risk of overdose. With an overdose, Ketamine will knock you out as if you’re on an operating table. If repeatedly taken in large doses, it can cause unconsciousness and failure of the cardiovascular system, leading to death.
Ketamine Addiction typically goes hand-in-hand with GHB and Ecstasy. Where you find one, you will typically find the other. All three of these drugs fall under the common category of what people refer to as “club drugs.” The possession of Ketamine is illegal and, if caught, can result in extensive prison time.
